At Talklet, our small team helped people practice spoken English. Learners brought reasons that mattered to them: an interview, a conversation with a teacher, a question for a coworker. The lesson was preparation for life outside the lesson.
WHAT WE LEARNED
The real goal should shape the help.
Talklet could tailor practice to someone’s job or interests. We began asking what would happen if practice drew from the actual posting, message, or appointment in front of them—and if the same assistant could help with the next step.
We also built agents to help our small team run Talklet. That experience taught us how useful an assistant can be when it has context and clear boundaries. Y Agent brings those lessons together: personal AI that helps people prepare, act with approval, and continue toward a goal.
We’re starting with immigrants in the U.S. Y Agent is a separate product, with a wider vision for people learning and using languages across the world.
